- A part-talkie, this film contained 15 minutes of spoken dialog. Warner Brothers promoted it as the first film in which actors actually spoke their roles.
- The film premiered in New York along with a series of Vitaphone short subjects that included "Cugat and his Gigolos" (1928). The feature itself was met with derisive laughter resulting from the stilted dialogue.
